Georgetown Community Hospital's James J. Cooley Named to Board of Directors for the American Board of Occupational Health Nurses

James J. Cooley, RN, BSN, COHN, has been selected to the Board of Directors for the American Board of Occupational Health Nurses (ABOHN). His experience and background led to this honor and he will be formally installed during the June meeting. Mr. Cooley has been in his position as Director of Business Health for the hospital for 18 years. Business Health is an occupational health clinic and has served local businesses with employee health needs since 1987.

The ABOHN was established in 1972 and is responsible for accrediting occupational health nurses in the United States. Over 13,000 nurses have the ABOHN distinction and the credentials are recognized by both the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS) and the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

Georgetown Community Hospital is a 75-bed acute care facility with an award-winning history of providing excellence in health care. The hospital has been named a “Solucient 100 Top Hospital” three times in recent years and has been ranked one of the “Best Places to Work in Kentucky” four out of the last five years.
