Georgetown Community Hospital Names 2018 Mercy Award Winner

Kim Hayes recognized for demonstrating compassion and unwavering commitment

to helping others

Georgetown, Kentucky, June 25, 2018 – Georgetown Community Hospital recently announced that Kim Hayes has been recognized as the hospital’s 2018 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s hospitals who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.

The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program established in 2002 to honor the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive.

“At Georgetown Community Hospital, we share LifePoint’s commitment to making communities healthier, and we recognize this is supported by the good work and service of our employees both on and off the job,” said William Haugh, CEO of Georgetown Community Hospital. “We are extremely proud to recognize Kim Hayes for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community. She goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person she encounters receives the highest level of care and compassion.”

Kim Hayes goes over and beyond for patients, such as providing transportation, buying meals, and taking care of their pets. Not only is she a huge supporter of the Relay for Life but she fundraises and walks every year in Susan G. Komen 3-Day, a three-day, 60-mile walk, as well as, local Susan G. Komen events. She has also lead a huge fundraising event for the Gathering Place Women’s Shelter located in Georgetown, Ky.

Each hospital winner, including Kim Hayes, will be considered for LifePoint’s 2018 company-wide Mercy Award. The company-wide winner will be announced this summer and will be honored at a special celebration in Nashville, Tenn., in August, along with all other hospital winners.
