Meet Our Staff
Georgetown Community Hospital employs a staff of dedicated professionals who want to help you achieve your weight loss and health goals. Some of our staff members have been with the program since its inception and have multiple years of experience.
You will meet many of the Center’s Staff along your weight loss journey. Feel free to contact us at any time if you need assistance, have questions or just want to talk about your process.
Cindy Caywood, MS, RD, LDE
Cindy Caywood holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and a Master of Science degree in Community Nutrition, both from Eastern Kentucky University. She is a state-Licensed Dietitian and and American Dietetic Society Association Registered Dietitian. Cindy has over 14 years of experience helping people to achieve their weight management goals through positive lifestyle changes.
She has a very relaxed, non-judgmental demeanor and focuses on helping patients to identify their personal strengths in order to make nutritional changes based on their individual goals and needs. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Cindy.
Melanie Morgan, RN, BSN, CBN
Education and Support Coordinator
Melanie works in both the Intensive Care Unit and the Bariatric Center at Georgetown Community Hospital. She and her husband have lived here in Scott County for 24 years and have raised three children.
Her education includes course work from West Virginia State College, University of Kentucky, Lexington Community College where she obtained an ADN/RN. She is currently enrolled at Eastern Kentucky University to advance her degree.
She has worked in Georgetown Community Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit for the better part of 15 years. She holds a certification for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and BLS and TNCC. She continues to attend classes to help stay abreast of new trends/treatments in health care. This July she will be testing for the Certified Bariatric Nurse designation.
Lead Insurance Coordinator
Jennifer is the Lead Insurance Coordinator. She’s been with our program since 2005, bringing 30 years of healthcare experience to Georgetown Bariatrics. She enjoys guiding patients through the many steps required in the preoperative process, and is a strong advocate for our patients.

Bariatric Intake Coordinator
Darla Schreiber holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Xavier University. Darla has over 20 years of professional customer service experience with over 5 years of business management experience. As the initial point of contact when you arrive at Georgetown Bariatrics, Darla will put you at ease with her exceptional organization, efficiency and warm demeanor as she guides you through the bariatric process.

Carrie Jo Strong
Pre-Operative Surgery Scheduling Coordinator
Carrie Jo is the pre-operative surgery scheduling coordinator & certified BSCR. She has been a GCH team member for 12 years and is very knowledgeable in most areas of the hospital. She joined the bariatric team and feels a great sense of accomplishment helping finalize this process. From scheduling pre-operative testing to scheduling your surgeon consultation, she is very eager to walk each and every bariatric patient throughout all the steps necessary. She is excited to help each and every patient to the best of her abilities.

Kelly Reese, RN, BSN, CNOR
Director, Surgical Services
Kelly Reese is the Director of Surgical Services at Georgetown Community Hospital. Kelly has over 17 years of nursing experience. Kelly has worked at GCH since 2005 and was promoted to Director of Surgery in 2011. She holds a Certification as a Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR), and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and became a BLS Instructor this year.
Her education includes an ADN from Northern Kentucky University in 1995, and most recent BSN from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2009. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Nurses (AACN) and a member of the Association of Operation Room Nurse (AORN).
Kelly and her husband live here in Georgetown. She has two children and is extremely involved in activities with them.
Nichole Reed, RN, BSN, CPPS, CBN
Director, Critical Care Services
Nichole is the Director of the Intensive Care Unit, Critical Care Step Down and the inpatient Bariatric Unit at Georgetown Community Hospital. Nichole has over six years of nursing experience. Nichole began her nursing career at Georgetown Community Hospital in 2012 where she worked as a nurse in ICU providing direct patient care. In May of 2015 she was promoted to House Supervisor where she remained until her latest transition to Director. Nichole has been the Director of Critical Care Services since February of 2017. She is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), and Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS). In 2017, she received two specialty certifications, Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) and Certified Bariatric Nurse (CBN). Nichole is a dedicated and patient-focused Registered Nurse.
She received her Bachelor of Science (BSN) from the University of Phoenix in 2017 and is currently enrolled in Western Governors University to obtain a Master’s Degree for Healthcare Leadership and Management. Nichole is married with four children.
Heather Pile, PA-C
Heather Pile is a graduate of The University of Kentucky College of Allied Health Sciences in 2000 and certified Physician Assistant. She also graduated Cum Laude from Eastern Kentucky University in 1997 with a BS in Mathematics. She has practiced as a Physician assistant in Bariatrics since 2011. Prior to Bariatric Surgery, she practiced 12 years in Occupational Medicine. She is a member of the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants (KAPA) and the American Academy Physician Assistants (AAPA). She is Involved in patient management both preoperatively and postoperatively. She is here to assist you in your weight loss journey.
