Learning the Basics About Weight Loss Surgery
We require that our patients start their process by completing some general education about weight loss surgery and the options available here at Georgetown Community Hospital. We know there are many sources for education in the world, but we want to make sure that the information you receive is accurate based on scientific data from the field of weight loss surgery and also our own experience as a program that has performed over 5000 procedures.
There are two ways to attend a seminar; pick the one that best suits your needs and schedule.
When you attend a seminar at our facility, you will have the opportunity to speak with any number of our Bariatric Staff, including our Surgeon, Dr. Eric Smith; Dietitian, Cindy Jester Caywood, MS, RD, LD; and Insurance Coordinator, Jennifer Morris.
We realize that not everyone can arrange to attend a seminar in person, so we've developed an online version that delivers the same information. The online seminar is delivered by Dr. Eric Smith, and will take about 45 minutes to view. After you've completed the online seminar, be sure to complete and print off the quiz that follows; we will need that to document that you've received our general weight loss surgery education.
